Survey on local healing practices was carried out in Trashi Yangtse Dzongkhag in the month of March-April 2009. This survey is part of our efforts to document the traditional ethnomedical knowledge as well as explore possibilities of strengthening the present traditional medicine system.

The Decoction building construction work is in full swing and about 30% of the work is completed. The construction is funded by the European Union under the Medicinal Plants Phase II Project and executed by M/s Penjor Construction, Thimphu. The new Building located within the ITMS premises at Kawa Jangsa will house the Decotion Unit, grinding machine and raw material store. It is hoped that the new building will solve the major problems faced by the Pharmaceutical & Research Unit and help improve the efficiency of production of traditional medicines.
